I do think the multi-tasking idea (which is false. studies show people are not nearly as successful at it as they think) has created a country full of people with attention deficit disorder though..not "I need ritalin" ADD, just "I need to put down the damn smart phone" ADD. I know when I leave mine at home I am much more calm and relaxed.

As far as concerts go I agree with the original point 100%. It drives me nuts when I go to a show and people are talking and playing on their cell phones the whole time. I always want to say to people, "Even if you can't handle doing one thing at a time (ie. watching a concert and listening intently) there are people there that paid good money to do just that...so show some respect for the rest of us...and for the artist on stage"

I love live music. It's probably one of my favorite past times. It calms me down and makes me happier than almost anything else (with maybe the exception of the wilderness)especially when I can close my eyes and get lost in it..unfortunately that's harder to do with cell phones and obnoxious people. I'm only 29 and it's gotten way worse since I was a teenager.
